I am a Father of 4 and husband of one :o)  I have one of the greatest callings in being called a grandfather.  We have 5 grandchildren on the ground and 2 more on the way.  This calling rivals that of being a husband and father.
I enjoy spending time in the mountains with my family; viewing the beauty that our Heavenly Father has placed before us.
I also have a hobby of restoring mopar muscle cars, although I have had to put that passion on hold the past few years to the lack of time and money.
Although I never earned my eagle, I’ve lived it vicariously through my 3 sons who have.  I have been involved in scouting as an assistant or Scout Master from the mid 80’s until they put me to pasture a few years ago.  2 of my sons, now married have had callings of Scout Master and Assistant Scout Master in their wards.
I am proud to be a Bear!

Mark Palmer is Annette’s husband and father to their 4 children  (ages 18, 16, 13, 10).  Annette has put up with him for over 20 years.  Mark has spent 15 years with Bonneville International Corporation’s Salt Lake Broadcast Group (which includes KSL TV & Radio, FM100.3, The Arrow 103.5, Bonneville Satellite, Bonneville Communications and Bonneville Distribution) in their accounting office.  He also teaches Beginning Accounting at the LDS Business College.
His adult Scouting career has seen him as Cubmaster (6 very fun months) and Varsity Coach.  Memorable events include a weeklong scout camp with his son in the WindRivers range; teaching the 2010 Centennial Carpentry merit badge to 180 boys in a huge merit badge workshop, and working with his sons in their Scouting endeavors.  He enjoys rockets, performing with his family and the LOTR.
“I am excited to be on staff again.  We will have a great experience, learn Leadership skills and make new friends – all of which will change lives.  Go Beavers!”

When I was first asked to be a Scoutmaster, I told them they might as well have asked me to go to the moon. Four years, some great training and a little experience later, I have become converted.  I love the mission of scouting and what it means to boys.  (I’m personally looking forward to taking our boys to King’s Peak this summer.)  I love to teach and I’m way excited to be part of this staff.  I work as a Producer/Reporter for KSL Newsradio.  I also volunteer as an EMT and firefighter in the small Summit County town of Wanship where I live.  But my greatest passion are  my wife, Sheri , 7-year old twins - a boy and a girl - and a 14 year old son who’s looking forward to the 2013 Jamboree.

I am psyched to be participating in this course of Woodbadge.  Scouting is a part of me, that I don’t see as a “calling” but more like my hobby.  I love it.  I have been the Scoutmaster for the past four years, as well as a year prior as Young Men’s President (Venturing Advisor) and two year prior to that as Varsity Coach.  I have also held the 11 Year Old Scout Leader position twice and a year as a Bear Cub Scout den leader. Scouting is a part of me and if that’s not enough to keep me busy I have also served on the GSLC District 29 as the Super Pow Wow Chair (Go Eagle Ridge!!!) for the past four years. We have over 500 scouts attend our Pow Wow each year and it’s AWESOME!!! I attended my first Woodbadge as a participant almost two years. Remember: Eagles fly high above the rest!!!
I have worked for Association Solutions, an association management company for the past 15 years. I am the current Chief Operations Officer of the organization.  If you have 10 minutes I would love to tell you more about it. I have a wonderful wife, Maren, that has been SUPER supportive of me in all my scouting positions over the past 12 years we have been married.  We have lived in Riverton Utah for just over the past 10 years. We have four great kids, Alexandra (8), Kaleb (7), Isaac (5), and Jeremiah (3) that we love to have fun with. We love to be outdoors, especially with our boat, where we spend plenty of time at Bear Lake. We love to go camping, hiking, backpacking and did I say boating. And most importantly, we don’t cheer for that team down south ... Go UTES!!
